BIP® Technology

For the ultimate in gas purity

BIP® cylinders contain a high-tech purification system and unique valve design that deliver ultra-high purity gas. BIP® gases are perfect for a wide variety of applications where gas purity is essential, for example as a carrier gas in gas chromatography (GC) where they improve analytical accuracy, reduce baseline noise and lower limits of detection. Helium, nitrogen, hydrogen and Argon are the ultra high purity gases most frequently used in a laboratory and they are all available with BIP® technology.

Legislation and tough competition have resulted in increased demand for ever more accurate and reliable analyses of a wide range of complex chemical compounds. BIP® gases have impurity levels as low as 10 ppb total hydrocarbons,10 ppb oxygen and 20 ppb moisture, meaning BIP® gases deliver the lowest level of impurities available anywhere.

BIP® gases have become the analytical standard for all applications requiring high purity gases with consistently low levels of impurities: gas chromatography, inerting, high quality welding and many others.

BIP cylinders and pack

Overview

Specialist analytical and industrial applications require an assurance of gas purity at the point of use. All BIP® gases guarantee the highest levels of purity with ultra low impurity levels, secure the accuracy of results. BIP® technology provides failsafe analyses and results for users, as the gases have impurity levels as low as 10 ppb THC, 10 ppb of O₂ and 20 ppb of H₂O. Using BIP® Argon, can dependent upon the application extend the life of the equipment being used, saving organisations both time and money.

BIP® gas is the zero-defect gas.

Trish Lees

Business Development Specialist

“Why is gas purity critical for my analytical application?”
Some impurities can damage analytical instruments and affect accuracy of results. Oxygen and moisture are critical impurities in many analytical techniques.
